Based in Oviedo, the capital of Asturias, our objective is a sensational climb called “La Cubilla”. One of the best kept secrets of Spanish cycling, recently discovered by the Vuelta a España organization.
We will enjoy 28 kilometers of continuous and extended climbing, with an average gradient of 4.7%, crowning 1,672 meters of altitude. All this crossing the Natural Park of Las Ubiñas-La Mesa.. A climb worthy of the Tour itself.
The second day will be more relaxing than the first, ending with another classic climb up the Naranco

Day 1 - Reception
Reception at the hotel and informative meeting. Delivery of materials and equipment, security measures, schedules and to deal with any questions that arise.
Day 2 - Oviedo-Alto de la Cubilla
The ride starts in Oviedo, after 12 kilometers we head off towards the first climb of the day, El Cordal,(2nd catagory)7.9 kilometers with an average gradient of 6% up to an altitude of 769 meters. An appetizer to warm up the legs!
After descending we come to a false flat section to Campomanes where we turn off and head to the first foot hills of the wonderful climb to La Cubilla, 28 kilometers of pure cycling in the middle of the Natural Park of Las Ubiñas-La Mesa.
Day 3 - Oviedo-Monte Naranco
In this ride we capture the spirit of one of cyclings classic stages, the Naranco.
The ride sets off from Oviedo and follows the river Nora along gently undulating country roads with little traffic. To begin with there are two small climbs, El Escamplero, 2 kilometers at 6% average gradient and El Alto de Sograndio, 6 kilometers at 3.5%.
The route descends to San Claudio where the real climb of the day begins, 10 kilometers of the Naranco.
The ascent can be divided into two distinct sections. The first part up to Ules, 3.5 kilometers at 5,3% average gradient, finishing in a gentle descent which marks the start of the second part of the climb. This section consists of 4.7 kilometers at 6.3% average gradient.
The road skirts around the pre romanique monuments of the kingdom of Asturias to finish on an unbeatable viewpoint over the city of Oviedo. From here we can contémplate the Bay of Biscay, the Picos de Europa and the rest of the Cantabrian mountain range. An extrodinary reward after two days of authentic cycling.
