The perfect simbiosis between cycling and nature. A reward for the senses!
Day 3 - Pedaleando por el Cantábrico
After a very demanding first days cycling we leave Llanes on smooth, traffic free roads, following the coastline of the Cantabrian sea. To the north, views of some incredible beaches and to the south the impressive mountain ranges of the Picos de Europa.
The lookout point in Boriza, Niembro bay, a cruise through the coastal town of Ribadesella and the winding roads upto the Espasa beach in Caravia make the first 70 kilometers an unforgettable panoramic tour.
But the best is yet to come, another classic climb from the Vuelta a España, El Fito. A 1st catagory climb of 8 kilometers with an average gradient of 8%, reaching a height of 560 meters above sea level.
The Summit is a rewards for lovers of stunning landscapes. At your feat the coastline stretches from Cantabria to Cabo Peñas and to the south the cantabrian mountians, dominated by the Picos de Europa.
